June 13th Earthquake, New Zealand

Optimism.Shops were still open for business if they could.Large bumps in the Merivale parking lot.
Damage from earlier earthquakes.Today we saw piles of liquifaction everywhere.

Hey there, nice posts, been so wrapped up in everything here i forget nz has suffered too. Those photos are pretty scary, brick buildings don't do quakes well. Still have moments of fear here, all just too sad, just have to keep going i guess, congrats on the teacher's licence! X

Hey Esther,
Thanks for the message. It has been pretty weird here. Every time I think the earth has been fairly quiet we then have a fairly big after shock. We've had a few good ones over these last few weeks. Many roads and buildings that had just been fixed went back to the way they were after our February earthquake. And the aftershocks seem to happen at night which means tired kids at school the next morning. Hope you guys are hanging in there in Yamagata! We think of you lots.
